A little bit about me, I love to play games. Board games, card games, dice games. It’s been my favorite past time for as long as I can remember. I’ve passed this love of games along to my oldest son. If you read my blog about 18 for 2018, 18 things I want to do in 2018 to make life a little happier, then you saw #5 about monthly adventures with Jackson. Appropriately so, he chose Snakes and Lattes as our first outing location.
If you live in Toronto this place is a must. Even if you don’t LOVE games it’s a spectacle. I went to the Annex location. You walk into an open space with a coffee and adult beverage bar, plenty of tables and they also have a full menu of delicious food! There are no reservations, but luckily we got there before the rush, and I mean rush of people showed up just before lunchtime.
After settling into our table we went to the back wall of games! Every single game you could ever imagine. One of my favorite features of Snakes and Lattes is the game experts that walk around to help you select a game AND help you quickly understand the rules and strategy of the game.
We played for three, yes, three hours. We played four games: Ride the Rails, Tiki Topple, Pounce and Dice Heist. We loved Dice Heist so much we bought our own game to bring home to add to our collection; they sell games at the front.
We have plans to go twice again in the next week. The only thing better than spending three hours gaming was spending three hours gaming with my son and seeing the excitement in his face as he brought over a new game to try. What’s better than that?
There are three locations in Toronto. If you don’t live in the Toronto area, check around your City for a version of a board game café – well worth it!
